What A Rally!!!

Hello folks,

I'm back home and safe and sound, though extremely tired from the day's adventures.

I got tear-gassed about 3 times and it ain't the best feeling in the world.

It was good to see such a good turn-out though. None of the organisers were expecting such a huge crowd.

If you look at the crowd in this picture:

you'd be amazed to find that it is only a small portion of this huge mass of people!

And this in turn is only part of the group demonstrating in that region. It's mind-boggling when you realise that there were a number of splinter groups there.

It is very evident that people want change.

Relieved you're alright, Crankster.

I see a revolution. And long overdue.

Good to hear you're safe Cranky Pants. :)

I'd love to see the cops try that sort of thing in Oz. There really would be a riot, followed by a revolution.

Antares - most rallies I've managed to avoid them, but not this time, goddammit!!

jugular - the cops would never dare try that sort of thing in Oz because the Ozzies have trained them to know that there would be repercussions. Big time. Unfortunately, Malaysians are too mild.

Ahhh, the good old Aussies, with a healthy built in disrespect for authority in all its forms. A convincing theory is that it's a result of their convict heritage, i.e. getting sent here for stealing a loaf of bread. :)

I'd like to pat their backs and tell them, "Good on ya, mate!"
