In silence, I watched them stroll by.
I'd just witnessed their kind inflict pain on their fellow human beings.
I know they do their master's bidding. Their master happens to be the ruling coalition, Barisan Nasional.
But I wonder how they feel inside as they carry out their job.

This applies to any uniformed corps, Cranky - whether Roman centurion, G.I., British regiment, PDRM mata-mata, or Stormtrooper serving the Evil Empire. If we allow ourselves to be mind-controlled and turned into a faceless, nameless killing machine... are we exempted from accountability for our abusive and destructive actions? Should we be allowed to reproduce and generate more mindless, irresponsible monster-automatons? Perhaps it helps to bear in mind that those who seek anonymity and refuge in the quasi-military units are not fully individualized souls - they are, in fact, ciphers - zeroes that you add to whole numbers to indicate quantity (not necessarily quality). Ciphers take orders from Integers (leaders) and when we have Integers acutely lacking in Integrity... Malaysia Boleh prevails!
But that's what our education system does - it produces mindless student who in adulthood are simply unable to think for themselves.
You only have to go through some of the blogs to read the commenters who suddenly develop overwhelming compassion for business owners whose businesses were supposedly affected by the demonstration.
The way in which the FRU dispatched their arsenal was gleefully cruel. Do they not put themselves in the shoes of common citizens? Do they not share the same burdens we do? Are their children not at risk of being abducted, tortured and murdered with no justice in the end?
How did they get this way? Why did we allow it?
It is the disease of apathy, indifference and numbed frustration....A situation where some believe in the myths and fallacies they hear....
I don't support any party but I wonder how the FRU can do such things to another fellow Malaysians. What a shame!

See ya there! :)
An eloquent reflection on what happened on August 1st. The eloquence of few words. Silence. I was first drawn to your Paul Tournier quote. Thank you.
Their hearts and souls are under lock and key inside putra jaya. A team of bomoh are controlling them from inside there under the instructions of you know who.
I saw and met face to face with some of them and you can see that they are just like zombie waiting for the instruction to strike.
