I was quite horrified to see the PKR committee member contesting for the seat of Bagan Pinang when there was already a PAS candidate declared.
It is no secret that this is going to be a tough fight. In fact, Penang Chief Minister and DAP politician Lim Guan Eng concedes that this by-elections will be Pakatan Rakyat's loss.
I personally don't know if there's any merit to that - no one expected a win of such proportions during the last general elections, so I've usually waited until the last vote has been counted before I made any comment.
But, this move by Shahruddin Abdul Hamid may be the nail that seals the coffin.
This is a major stand-off between Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat. They cannot afford to have a split within them.
In fact, both DAP and PKR have pledged to support the PAS candidate and suddenly this loose cannon from PKR declares his candidacy.
If Lim Guan Eng's words are a measure of the outcome, Pakatan Rakyat has a slim chance to begin with. Now with the potential split in votes, the chances are next to nil.
Now PKR either has some idiots fielded as politicians or it has some moles out to bring it down to its knees.
Either way, it needs to set a standard, a benchmark, and adhere to it.

This is starting to look like a race to the finishing line of GE13 by walking towards it - backwards. Or you can say he wins who disintegrates slowest.
Left to their own devices, BN might just as well have imploded on their own but no, Pakatan has to contribute to make it more interesting by doing some imploding themselves.
Now more challenges are being mounted. BN's new-found strategy is to split Pakatan's support by drawing the moderates from its core into new parties or causes with the same type of burning issues. If this is not nipped in the bud by proactive exposure, Pakatan may get toasted.
It doesn't seem to realize how stupid some of its politicians are turning out to be and how dangerous their actions are which can be turned into perception weapons of mass propaganda by the machinery of BN, specifically Umno.
Maybe the Pakatan leadership should bring out the piano wires.
Draconian? Try losing GE13 back to a BN after which Umno won't hesitate to draw out its long knives. It will be the end of democracy, checks-and-balance, whatever.
This is not a joke. This is deadly serious business. Malaysia's future is at stake all because some blinkered half-baked idiots are rowing the boat straight for the rapids.
Malaysia is both a blessed and blasted nation. Blessed by natural resources and good people. Blasted by the low quality of some of its politicians.
Actually, in this age of green, they're non-recyclable diapers.
Hi Crankshaft
Ever considered the possibility that ruling regime has used monetary inducement to increase the number of candidates to split the vote?
Desperate (desperate to win) times require desperate measures, you know!

Seriously, Pakatan needs to get rid of these people, people who have political ambitions bigger than their party's. Its time to do a house cleaning, and lets start with that Hassan Ali chap.
I was horrified to read it, too! And, I saw the guy on tv saying that he's willing to 'berjuang' because his people want him to!!!
OMG, this is badder than bad.
You're right: PKR needs to get their act together and stop giving Barisan ammo to use against them!
I've been asking for a Shadow Cabinet/government lineup for the longest time. But this, ah, is ridiculous!!!
Hi Crankster
I was off the grid for a few days because of the poor internet connection and only just found out here at your blog.
What a sad state of affairs this is. The circus of horrors never fail to create intrigue and suspense to shock and to divide us beyond the boundaries of sanity.
Perhaps many need to do soul-searching ...er if they do have one that is...
Take care and have a lovely weekend!
Blessings to you and yours always.
absolutely brainless....
Pragmatists will point to this and say: "That's another good reason why everybody wants to be Mr Moneybags - because everybody has his price = and if you can buy anyone and everyone, you get to be the Supreme Being!"
worms are crawling out of the woodwork..flush them out..see who his
helpers are from PKR..then clean it up!
Walla - I was quite impressed by the speed and manner in which BN was disintegrating, but it appears that PR is following suit. And they want to emulate the Japanese...
I'm totally with you on the piano wires, by the way. And then after that, I wish for world peace...
Phua - Good to have you drop by on my blog. I always get excited when a new intellectual shows up. Yes, I too believe this fool has been paid.
Naga - Hassan Ali and Zulkifli Nordin. They're a couple of loose cannons.
Pat - Berjuang my a$$. He dreaming up new places to visit with the money UMNO is going to be paying him.
Paula - That's right, it's turned into a friggin' circus and I wish that I could set some lions loose on these clowns.
Zewt - Brainless, and selfish, and shameless.
Antares - Sigh. That's sad; to think that everyone has a price. I hope I never get to find out mine.
Rudy - You have a good point there. We don't only need to clean out the politicians, we need to sanitise their aides as well.
walla dear, nothing in your profile ?
