Oh yes, they have backed down!
Obviously politics is more important than religion.
Winning the votes of the 1 million Sabahan and Sarawakian Christians is the primary concern.
The issue of religion was just a way of exerting dominance.
They thought they could get away with it. But this time they went too far and earned the wrath of the East Malaysians - who will be the kingmakers of the coming general elections.
So they reversed their decision and have decided to maintain one set of rules for the East Malaysians and another for West Malaysians.
Bloody cowards.

In a way, i am greatful that it has been resolved and really this has been going on for three decades without any resolution and trillion of times they have gone back on their words.
Since it's the Lent Season, i wish to refrain from being Sceptical and i look at their latest move in positive light. So Help Me God!
