Translating The Gobbledegook

Razak Baginda may have motive to kill Altantuya but...

... the answer hangs in the air. Or in a 70-page judgment.

Most people don't believe he did it anyway.

They tend to believe someone else was responsible.

After all, you don't summon military commandos to resolve a civil matter of blackmail and stalking. You call in the police.

Of course, you certainly don't erase or confiscate all immigration records of her entering or leaving the country. Not when there are photographic evidences documented all over.

You don't get rid of the nuisance by blowing her up with government-owned C4 explosives. You file a police report or maybe even press charges in court.

Which is why most people tend to look in the direction of the defence minister at that time.

But hey, I'm not saying anything. No more than the 70-page judgment.

She yelled at him outside his house for cheating him.

How can that constitute a threat sufficient to justify using only his affidavit to spring him free when he is still the link via his recorded phone calls to the UTK pair who have been profiled to follow and only follow orders?

The judgement so made was to cut the connection to the one behind the pair who had ordered the hit.

Looking back, all three, namely bench, prosecution and defense appeared to have only worked in concert to divert attention from the missing and most important piece - what was the motive?

Justice has not been done. One cannot escape the conclusion it has only been used to untaint the culpability of higher ups in this most heinous crime against a foreign innocent.

Crankster, you have posted with steely brevity and clarity. Thanks.

Azilah from the Special Action Squad (UTK) was the man who killed Altantuya," announced the secretary of political analyst Abdul Razak Abdullah Baginda, shocking everyone in the High Court here today.

Siti Aisyah Mohd Azlan, 24, from Rawang, testified that this was told to her by her boss (Abdul Razak) at his office on Nov 7 last year, about two weeks after Mongolian interpreter and part-time model Altantuya Shaariibuu was murdered at a location between Lot 12843 and Lot 16735, Mukim Bukit Raja, near here, between 10pm on Oct 19 and 1am on Oct 20, 2006.

Siti Aisyah, the 9th prosecution witness, said on that day (Nov 7), Abdul Razak had called her into his room and told her that something bad had befallen Altantuya.

DPP Tun Majid: What did he tell you?

Siti Aisyah: Razak said Amina (Altantuya) had died. I was shocked. He asked me whether I knew who did it. Then I asked him back who had done it. He said, `the UTK guy who came that day. His name is Azilah'.

Tun Majid: What else did he tell you?

Siti Aisyah: Razak said he was no ordinary policeman but a chief inspector. I then said that he (Azilah) should know not to do such a thing. Razak said Azilah seemed to be trying to accuse him of ordering him to kill Amina.

Siti Aisyah said Abdul Razak, the third accused, also told her that he did not ask Azilah to kill Altantuya, but had only asked the police officer to protect his home and family.

At this juncture, Azilah's counsel Hazman Ahmad stood up and objected to the witness' answer as her testimony, he said, was based on hearsay.

The objection was recorded by judge Datuk Mohd Zaki Md Yassin, while two other counsels, Wong Kian Kheong and Kamarul Hisham Kamarudin, said they would address the matter after the witness finished testifying.

Dead-fish eyes, reptile cunning, an ingrained sense of immunity by dint of political lineage and privilege. Overweening ambition, unmitigated greed and a desperate desire for glory and power. Who immediately comes to mind?

Rosmah?

Baginda may not have pulled the trigger, but he certainly knows who did.

Alatantuya disappeared from in front of Baginda's house with CI Azilah and two other cops. Telephone records show Baginda had conversations with Azilah before and after her death.

By keeping silent, he is an accessory before and after the fact.

For that, the judge should have called for his defence and put him behind bars. Simple and nuff said. No need to say anything about the quality of justice in Malaysia.

Walla -- thank you. You're right, the judgement has cut the connection between the UTK men and the person with the motive.

Joshua -- it will take the nation (not just the courts) a LOOOONG time to recover from Dr M's vile dictatorship.

Antares -- it does sound like Rosmah. Or Najib. Which is essentially the same thing.

DPP -- is he keeping silent to save someone's ass, or to redirect the blame from himself? I suspect it is the former. There are some filthy people sitting in our government today.
